PSV has completed the investigation following the tuberculosis infection of striker Lucas Pérez. None of the players or staff have been infected.
In March, it was announced that Pérez had contracted a tuberculosis infection. Since then, the health of the squad has been monitored by the medical staff of PSV and the GGD Brabant-Zuidoost.
“A day after the last matchday of the competition, the final test was taken. All test results were negative, formally concluding the investigation,” PSV writes on the club website.
Pérez is now doing better. He is out of quarantine and is continuing his rehabilitation in Spain in consultation with PSV. “I am healthy again and working hard to be in top shape next season. I am very happy to be back,” says Pérez.
Pérez will have to look for a new club. The 36-year-old striker’s expiring contract will not be extended. Pérez signed with the Eindhoven team in February, but only played 24 minutes for the national champion due to his infection.
