A teacher at a primary school in the Brabant village of Leende was recently dismissed for fraud with Cito tests. The results of two classes have been canceled because they were more favorable. It is not about tests from group 8.
Primary school De Triangel discovered the fraud during an analysis of test results. In two classes there was a “deviation in the administration and processing of the tests,” according to a written statement from school umbrella organization Atalenta, under which the school falls.
Due to the fraud, the school in Leende shared an overly positive learning curve with the parents. “We are very sorry about that,” Atalenta reports. The teacher no longer works at De Triangel or at other schools that fall under the umbrella organization.
It is unclear which classes were tampered with. The school did announce that it is not about group 8. Advice for secondary education has therefore not been influenced. In the preliminary school recommendations of the classes in question, only the results that are “demonstrably reliable” have been included.
De Triangel will now perform a results analysis twice a year to prevent recurrence. This analysis will then be discussed with all teachers and the participation council. In such a council, parents, staff and sometimes students participate in discussions about school policy.
