All Dutch people ready at Wimbledon after hopeless defeat Suzan Lamens

Wimbledon will continue after Thursday without Dutch participation. Suzan Lamens lost in two sets without a chance against the Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova, eliminating all Dutch players from the singles in London: 6-4 and 6-0.

The fourth day of Wimbledon has therefore turned into a day of reckoning for the Dutch. Earlier in the day, Botic van de Zandschulp and Jesper de Jong were eliminated. Tallon Griekspoor and Arantxa Rus had already been eliminated.

In the first set, it didn’t look like Lamens would be wiped out by Alexandrova, the number seventeen in the world rankings. The South Holland player even took a break lead, but a game later it was already level again. After that, Alexandrova prevailed.

That blow lingered with the 25-year-old Lamens, because in the second set she was completely helpless. She didn’t win a single game. The match lasted only 55 minutes. The second set was over after just 21 minutes.
