Djokovic rods on Wimbledon and wait Serbian

Novak Djokovic convincingly advanced to the third round of Wimbledon on Thursday. The world number six conceded only five games to Briton Dan Evans and awaits a Serbian clash in his next match.

The 38-year-old Djokovic was too strong for the three-year younger Evans with 6-3, 6-2 and 6-0. The Serbian decided the match in 1 hour and 49 minutes.

Evans had received a wildcard from the tournament organization. The world number 154 could only offer Djokovic resistance in the first set. It was even until 3-3, after which the 24-time Grand Slam winner won the next three games.

In the second and third sets, Djokovic quickly took a comfortable lead. The seven-time Wimbledon winner did not relinquish that lead. He recorded his 99th victory at Wimbledon.

Djokovic will face his compatriot Miomir Kecmanovic in the third round. He eliminated Jesper de Jong earlier in the day.

Last year, Djokovic reached the Wimbledon final, in which Carlos Alcaraz was too strong. He last won the Grand Slam tournament on grass in 2022.
