Willeke Alberti performed for the first time after a period of mourning. The singer, who recently lost her daughter and brother, is ready to be on stage again, she tells De Telegraaf .
“I missed my nice and sweet audience terribly,” says the eighty -year -old singer. Alberti gave a performance in Vught on Monday for Stichting Verwenzorg.
“Of course I was afraid if it would still go, but it went fantastic,” she looks back. “I can do what I love to do again: make people happy. And they also make me happy.”
Alberti had to cancel earlier performances, because she didn’t succeed yet. After the loss of her daughter Daniëlle and brother Tonny, the singer decided to temporarily not perform in October 2024. Also died two aunts, an uncle and a cousin. “We have to miss that forever, but I will never forget them,” emphasizes Alberti.
Alberti’s agenda has since been filled with several performances. For example, she will perform this weekend during the Amsterdam Summer event, where she sings a duet with René Froger, among other things. “I think it’s fantastic to do that with him, because I know him since he was a little man.”
