Wesley Sneijder still misses his ex-wife Yolanthe Cabau, from whom he divorced in 2019. The former football player says this in the podcast Leergeld. “We were not only together, we were also friends with each other.”
Cabau and Sneijder were married for nine years. “That was the happiest period in my life,” says the former professional football player. “I was getting married, the Dutch national team went to the World Cup in 2010, which became a fantastic tournament.”
About the breakup, the forty-year-old Sneijder is brief: “shit happens”. But he says he still misses Cabau, with whom he also has a son (Xess Xava, ed.). “I speak to her every day. With that little one there and it’s always fun.”
The former football player announced last month that he has a new girlfriend. He doesn’t want to share anything about her. “I now want to keep private and business matters separate. And that’s nobody’s business.” His new girlfriend will just have to accept that decision, says Sneijder.
