The twins of Jesy Nelson have been together for the first time since their birth earlier this month. The 33-year-old Little Mix singer shares that she is struggling with her children being in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
“Moments like these then feel like a dream,” the singer writes on Instagram. “That they were reunited for the first time today was the most magical feeling I will never be able to describe.”
According to Nelson, “nothing as a parent can really prepare you for the neonatal intensive care unit.” “It is the most terrifying and overwhelming feeling of emotions when you cannot protect your babies.”
Nelson writes that as a mother you want to hold and comfort your children when they cry, but you cannot at that moment. “It feels like a million threads are coming out of them, with snakes and masks in the way, while people poke and prod at them. It breaks your heart into a thousand pieces.”
On May 15, the girls, Ocean Jade and Story Monroe, were born. During the pregnancy, the singer dealt with twin-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS), in which more blood flows from one fetus to the other than vice versa.
For that, Nelson had to undergo surgery and stay in the hospital for a long time. The father of the twins is singer Zion Foster.
