Tim de Wit will take over from Sophie Hilbrand on BNNVARA’s late evening show. Starting in September, he will form the presenting duo with Jeroen Pauw for Pauw & De Wit, the successor to Bar late. The broadcaster confirmed this to the Ad on Friday.
According to BNNVARA, the new talk show will focus more on news, current affairs, and explanation. De Wit was already a regular substitute on Bar late last season. He made his debut at the end of October.
The journalist and presenter previously worked for NOS and News hour, among others. He made Bureau Abroad for VPRO, both on radio and television. He is now stopping with that program. Nothing has yet been announced about the continuation of his podcast Europe turns on.
Hilbrand announced earlier this week that she would stop with Bar late. BNNVARA reported that this decision was taken in good consultation and that the presenter will focus on other programs again.
