In the south of Spain, a three-year-old toddler was found dead in a swimming pool at a residence on Monday, multiple Spanish media outlets reported on Tuesday. The girl is of Dutch nationality.
The incident occurred on Monday in the Spanish town of Alhaurín de la Torre, just south of Málaga.
According to the newspaper El País, the emergency center received a call about the drowning around 7:00 PM. The deployment of emergency services was to no avail, writes the local newspaper Sur. The girl was pronounced dead at the scene.
The toddler’s body has been taken for autopsy. The authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.
