Thérèse Boer and children live together again after death Jonnie: 'Very nice'

Thérèse Boer finds much support from her children Jimmie and Isabelle after the death of her husband Jonnie. They now live with her again. The top chef of star restaurant De Librije passed away in April at the age of sixty due to a pulmonary embolism.

The loss of Jonnie is still great. “One moment you are stronger than the other,” Thérèse tells RTL Boulevard frankly. She indicates that it is nice to have people around her. She regularly experiences difficult moments. “It suddenly hits you.”

Thérèse and her children are determined to continue with the three-star restaurant De Librije in Zwolle. “We know Jonnie wants us to continue,” she says. “We want to make him proud and we are really going to fight for that.”

In these difficult times, Thérèse finds a lot of support from her children. “They now live with me again and I really like that,” she says. “It fills the void somewhat.”

In memory of Jonnie, a culinary tribute was organized at Brass Boer Curaçao on Thursday evening. Guests received a six-course dinner composed by chefs who have worked with Jonnie in the past. According to Thérèse, they are all dishes that she was sure were Jonnie’s favorites.
