Still 142 days until the elections: what does the political playing field look like?

Still 142 days until the elections: what does the political playing field look like?

The Netherlands goes to the polls earlier than expected, because after eleven months the Schoof cabinet came to an end last week. The parties are in the campaign position, but how are they doing?

Less than two years ago it was all about one thing in Politiek The Hague: what will Pieter Omtzigt do? The Rutte IV cabinet had fallen over asylum and after the announced departure of former VVD leader Mark Rutte the playing field was open.

For weeks the eyes were aimed at Omtzigt, whose newly founded NSC could sometimes become the largest party. How different is that now?

The rule with the PVV has misunderstood for the young party. The holy statement declared declared no more than a paper reality. In addition, coalitionmates are put NSC away as a crossbar.

Of the current twenty room seats, NSC now has one to three in the polls. Omtzigt has also left. The question is whether NSC still has existence without him.

BBB also plummeted in polls

Party leader Nicolien van Vroonhoven will have to consult himself. Is she the designated person to lead the list? No other candidates have reported for the time being.

BBB is also not going well. The party, grew up by directed itself against the nitrogen policy of the Rutte III and IV cabinets, is now on the buttons. The Netherlands would make a fist against Brussels, but soon the nitrogen problem turned out to be more complex.

For example, outgoing agricultural minister Femke Wiersma has not yet managed to help the thousands of PAS counts. These farmers, who have an illegal nature permit through the actions of the government, have been in uncertainty for years.

BBB has been halved in the polls: from seven seats to around three seats.

CDA is on the rise

After difficult years, the CDA has recovered the road up. The once so large party made only five seats in the previous elections, but is now in the polls on about eighteen seats.

Party leader Henri Bontenbal, still a new face in the autumn of 2023, seems to take advantage of the decay at NSC. He also puts himself down as a decent politician who wants to tell the “honest” story.

That also means that Bontenbal does not want to make big promises – which you fly around in campaign time. It will have to be seen whether the CDA leader will remain intact in the midst of all the expected violence.

GL-PvdA is not yet participating as a new party

On the left, there has not been much moving in the polls since the 2023 elections. SP, Party for the Animals and GroenLinks-PvdA are currently receiving some seats. Also in the middle party D66 has not been seen great growth for a year and a half.

GL-PVDA, now the largest opposition party, will have to compete with VVD and/or PVV. Those three parties take the lead in the current polls. If asylum becomes a major election theme again, that is not a favorable scenario for GL-PvdA.

In the Podcast Frans van Nu.nl, leader Frans Timmermans says that his party cannot “win the elections on migration, but to lose”.

Members GL-PvdA must first make an important decision

But the members of GL-PVDA must first take an important decision before the campaign. They can vote this week whether they want to form one new party. They should not go crazy.

But regardless of the result, no new logo will show off on the upcoming electoral list. The elections come just too early for the establishment of such a new party.

GroenLinks and PvdA, just like in 2023, participate in one election program, one list and one party leader. Frans Timmermans wants to take on that role again, but in the end the members decide on it. No other candidates have reported for the time being.

For Wilders, the sidelines threaten again

The big demand that hangs above the market is whether the VVD will once again work with the PVV. VVD leader Dilan Yesilgöz put the door ajar in the summer of 2023.

After years of blockade, a voice for PVV leader Geert Wilders suddenly no longer was no longer a lost voice. The party rose in the polls and was by far the largest partly due to the SBS election debate.

Wilders has lost a number of seats in the polls in recent months, but is still at the same level as the VVD (and GL-PVDA). Those polls do date from before the cabinet trap. So it will have to be seen whether his supporters blame him or not.

Wilders himself hopes for even more seats and premiership. But rule in the Netherlands is not an option in the Netherlands. And if the VVD shots the door again, rule is excluded for Wilders. The CDA also excludes the collaboration with the PVV.

Yesilgöz will in all likelihood be the leader of the VVD again. She has to balance. If Yesilgöz excludes the PVV, the difficult assignment awaits her to reconcile with the left. She already admitted that Wilders wasted the only chance of right policy this week.

Is this the chance for JA21?

But if we know one thing, crazy things can happen in The Hague. Due to a certain campaign theme, a smaller party can just get the wind in the back.

Also in recent years have shown that newcomers can have attraction. Who knows, these elections will finally be the moment for a party like JA21.

Foreman Joost Eerdmans has profiled himself as the decent alternative on the right since 2021. Now that a collaboration with the PVV has failed, he is entering the elections under good circumstances. For the time being, the party is only on about three seats in the polls. In the campaign he will therefore have to fight for visibility.

The Netherlands Will Go to the Polls Earlier Than Expected, because After Eleven Months, The Schoof Cabinet Came to an End Last Week. The Parties are in Campaign Mode, But How Are they Doing?

Less than two years ago, there was only one thing on the agenda in political The Hague: What will Pieter Omtzigt do? The Rutte IV Cabinet had Fallen about Asylum and after the announced departure of Former VVD Leader Mark Rutte, The Playing Field was open.

For week, Eyes Were on Omtzigt, Whose Newly Established NSC Coulde Become the Largest Party. How Different is that now?

Governing with the PVV Has Turned Out Badly for the Young Party. The Declared Rule of Law Statement Turned Out To Be No More Than A Paper Reality. In Addition, Coalition Partners Dismissed NSc as an obstructionist.

Or the current twenty seats in the house of representatives, NSC now has one to three left in the polls. Omtzigt Has also Left. The Question is Whether NSC Will Still Be Able to Survive Without Him.

BBB also plummeted in polls

Party Leader Nicolien van Vroonhoven will have to take stock. Is she the right person to lead the list? So far, no other candidates have come forward.

BBB is also not doing well. The party, which Grew Large by Opposing the Nitrogen Policy of the Rutte III and IV Cabinets, is now in Control Itelf. The Netherlands was going to stand up to Brussels, but it son Became clear that the nitrogen problem was more complex.

For Example, Caretaker Agriculture Minister Femke Wiersma Has Not Yet Succeded in Helping the Thousands of Pas Reporters. These farmers, who have an illegal nature permit due to the actions of the government, have leg uncertain for years.

In The Polls, BBB Has Been Halved: From Seven Seats to About Three Seats.

CDA is on the rise

After Difficult Years, The CDA Has Found its way back up. The Once Large Party won Only Five Seats in the Previous Elections, But Now Has About Eighten Seats in the Polls.

Party Leader Henri Bontenbal, A New Face in the Autumn Of 2023, Seems to Be Benefiting from the Decline at NSC. Hey also presents himself as a solid politician who is horsen to tell the “honest” story.

That also means that bontenbal does not because to make big promises – which will fly around your ear earing campaign time. It Remains to Be Seen Whether the CDA Leader Will Survive Amidst All The Expected Violence.

GL-Pvda Not Yet Participating As A New Party

On the left, not much has moved in the Polls Since the 2023 Elections. SP, Party for the Animals and GroenLinks-Pvda Are Currently Gaining A Few Seats. There has also leg no major growth at middle party d66 for a year and a half.

GL-Pvda, now the largest opposition party, will have to fight with vvd and/or pvv. Those Three Parties are leading in The Current Polls. If Asylum Becomes a Major Election Theme Again, that is not a favorable scenario for GL-PvdA.

In The Podcast Frans From Nu.nl, Leader Frans Timmermans Says That Party “Cannot win the Elections on Migration, But Can Lose Them.”

GL-PvdA Members Must First Make An Important Decision

But before the Campaign Breaks Loose, The Members of GL-PvdA Must First Make An Important Decision. They can vote this week on Whether they want to form one new party. It would be strange if they did not vote in favor.

But Regardless of the Outcome, There Will Be No New Logo On The Next Electoral List. The Elections are just too Early for the Establishment of Such A New Party.

However, GroenLinks and PvdA, Just Like in 2023, are participating with one election program, one list and one leader. Frans Timmermans Wants To Take On That Role Again, But Ultimately The Members Will Decide. So far, no other candidates have come forward.

Wilders is Threeated with the Sidelines Again

The Big Question Hanging Over The Market is Whether the VVD Will Go to Sea With The PVV Again. VVD Leader Dilan Yesilgöz Opened the by for this in the Summer of 2023.

After years of Blockade, A Vote for PVV Leader Geert Wilders was Suddenly No Longer A Lost Vote. The party rose in the Polls and Became by far the largest, partly due to the sbs election debate.

Wilders Has Lost a Number of Seats in the Polls in recent months, but is still on par with the vvd (and GL-PvdA). However, Those polls date from before the fall of the cabinet. So it remains to be seen Whether His supporters Blame Him for the breakup or not.

Wilders himself Hopes for Even More Seats and the Premiership. But Governing Alone is not an option in practice in the Netherlands. And if the vvd slams the by Shut Again, Governing is Ruled Out for Wilders. The CDA also Excludes Cooperation with the PVV.

Yesilgöz Will Most Likely Be the Leader of the VVD Again. She has to balance. If yes, the PVV, She Faces The Difficult Task of Reconciling with the Left. She Already Admitted to Fearing That Wilders Had Wasted The Only Chance for Right-Wing Policies This Week.

Is this the Chance for Ja21?

But if we know one thing, it is that stranger things can happen in the Hague. A Certain Campaign Theme Can Suddenly Give A Smaller Party A Boost.

The Past Few Years Have also Shown That Newcomers Can Be Attractive. Who knows, these elections May Finally Be the Moment for a Party Like Ja21.

Leader Joost Eerdmans Has Been Profiling himself as the decent alternative on the Right Since 2021. Now that cooperation with the PVV HAS Failed, he is the Elections in Good Circumstances. For the time being, the party only has about three seats in the Polls. So in the Campaign Hey Have To Fight for Visibility.
