Real Madrid has confirmed the arrival of Trent Alexander-Arnold on Friday. The Spanish powerhouse is reportedly paying Liverpool 10 million euros, so that the wing defender can already be deployed at the Club World Cup this summer.
Alexander-Arnold’s contract with Liverpool was due to expire at the end of June. The 26-year-old Englishman had already said goodbye to the powerhouse. Real is now paying a buyout of reportedly 10 million euros to enlist the defender on June 1.
Alexander-Arnold joined Liverpool’s youth academy twenty years ago. He has been part of the main squad since 2016, where he has no fewer than 354 official duels to his name. In those, he scored 23 times and provided 92 assists.
Arne Slot’s Liverpool were crowned national champions last season. For Alexander-Arnold, it was the second time in his career that he became national champion with ‘The Reds’. He also won the Champions League with the English powerhouse in 2019.
Alexander-Arnold has signed with Real until mid-2031, which is preparing for the Club World Cup. The tournament in the United States starts on June 14 and lasts until July 13. Real is in a group with Al Hilal, Pachuca and Red Bull Salzburg.
