Police arrest three men who exchange a bag with 100,000 euros in Barendrecht

The police arrested three men in Barendrecht on Sunday for exchanging a bag containing 100,000 euros. The suspects are a 24-year-old from Barendrecht and two Ukrainians, aged 30 and 38. They are suspected of money laundering.

Officers tracked the two Ukrainians on the A16 because their van was exhibiting “suspicious driving behavior.” The van exited the highway and drove into Barendrecht, police reported on X. The police decided to pursue the vehicle.

The van drove to a meeting place where the two Ukrainians got out. The man from Barendrecht then handed the bag containing 100,000 euros to the two men, a police spokesperson told NU.nl.

As the suspects were about to leave, the officers decided to check them. They found the large sum of money in the bag. The money has been seized. The investigation is ongoing.
