
A Portion of Car dealerships Provide Insufficient Information Regarding the Fuel Consumption and Emissions of Vehicles, which is Legally Mandated. The Dutch Environment and Transport Inspectorate Investigated 127 Locations, or which 50 Provised Incorrect OR NO Energy Labels for Their Vehicles.
The Dutch Environment and Transport Inspectorate (ILT) Examined the Information Provised by dealerships to Customers Regarding Fuel Consumption, CO2 Emissions, and the Energy Label of the Car. Nearly 40 percent of the sales locations did not meet the requirements.
“This makes it more diffult for consumers to consciously choose a more economical and cleaner car,” the inspectorate states.
The Car dealerships Received A Written Warning. Following A Second Inspection, One Dealer was Issued a Penalty Payment Order. The location must then a sum of money if they do not implement the Improvements Requested by the ILT. This can Amount to 10,000 euros.
Car dealerships are legal required to display the fuel consumption and emissions of a car. This is Done, Among Other Things, Through The Energy Label. The Inspectorate Conducted the Investigation Into The Dealers in 2024 and Early 2025.
