Lidewij de Vos is the leader of Forum for Democracy in the House of Representatives elections on October 29. She replaces Thierry Baudet, who so far was always the party leader as a party chairman.
De Vos is happy with the chance. “It is a particularly great honor and an assignment to be the leader of the largest membership in the Netherlands,” she writes in a statement. The new party leader says she wants to bring the party further and that she is going for political renewal.
Founder Baudet remains party chairman and goes to the second place on the electoral list. Baudet thinks he as a leader stands in the way of the growth of the party. According to him, this is due to, among other things, “polarized opinions” about him and a “blockade for five years in the media”. “That has partly been my own fault, but also partly caused by framing and getting nothing.”
Baudet thinks FVD with De Vos as party leader and party leader “will achieve a fantastic result in the elections and can get a lot of things” for the voters of FVD and for the Netherlands.
De Vos also replaces Baudet as of next week as party leader. In the room she takes over the site of Pepijn van Houwelingen.
