Tim Naberman makes his Tour de France debut. The Dutchman from Team Picnic PostNL will debut on July 5th in the Tour de France, where he will ride together with, among others, Frank van den Broek.
The 26-year-old Naberman finished the Vuelta de España last year and can now try his hand at the Tour de France. For the 24-year-old Van den Broek, it is his second Tour in the service of the Dutch team.
Naberman and Van den Broek will ride in service of Oscar Onley, with whom the team aims for a good ranking in the general classification. The 22-year-old Scot finished 39th overall last year. In the youth classification, he did reach a place in the top ten.
Team Picnic PostNL is missing a number of important riders in the Tour. Sprinter Fabio Jakobsen is still recovering from surgery on the iliac artery. John Degenkolb broke his wrist and collarbone in April, which means the Tour de France comes too early for him as well.
The team therefore consists for the rest of sprinters Tobias Lund Andresen and Pavel Bittner. Warren Barguil, Sean Flynn and Niklas Märkl will also support Onley for a good classification.
The Grand Départ of the Tour de France is Saturday in Lille, where especially the sprinters are aiming for a stage win.
