A man was walking along the glaciers in Alaska when he was trapped under a 320-kilo rock. He lay in a stream for at least three hours, but thanks to his wife, he managed to survive.
61-year-old Kell Morris and his wife were returning from their walk when the road turned out to be impassable. But Morris slipped and fell 6 meters down, local media write. The man became trapped under several stones and a large rock.
He lay with his face in an ice-cold stream. His wife held his head up so that her husband could continue to breathe. Meanwhile, his wife tried several times to remove the stones from Morris, but that did not work.
The man was not crushed under the large rock, thanks to the several small stones. But Morris was in a lot of pain and lost consciousness several times.
The wife, a former police officer, managed to climb up to get her phone. She had to walk about 300 meters for reception, called the police and gave the coordinates. After about three hours, help arrived. With a helicopter, seven firefighters and special airbags, Morris was freed.
Morris tells the broadcaster that he thought he was going to die. He was in the hospital for another two days, but is now at home. The couple say they are not afraid and will “just go out again, but with caution”.
