Linda Hakeboom makes a documentary about the success of Linda, Roos & Jessica

Linda Hakeboom is working on a three-part documentary about the success and the shadow side of the girl group Linda, Roos & Jessica. In the series, former members Katja Schuurman and Babette van Veen look back on their sudden breakthrough.

Van Veen and Schuurman starred with Guusje Nederhorst in the soap opera Goede Tijden, Slechte Tijden in the nineties. At that time, the three formed the girl group Linda, Roos & Jessica, named after their characters in the series. With the song Ademnood they scored a major hit, followed by more success and an album. In 2004, Nederhorst died of breast cancer.

“I remember like yesterday that I was dancing to Ademnood as a little girl,” Hakeboom writes on Instagram. “Guusje, Babette and Katja were the big idols at that time. Girls wanted to be them, and boys wanted to marry them.”

“Babette and Katja give me unreserved access to their private lives and the life of Linda, Roos & Jessica,” continues the documentary maker. “It provides a special and intimate look behind the scenes: the beautiful sides, but also the often invisible downside of fame. I am super grateful that I get that trust from them.”

The three-part documentary will be released on HBO Max this fall.
