KLM is again making summary proceedings to prevent strike

KLM is initiating summary proceedings to prevent the strike of ground personnel at Schiphol next Wednesday, as announced by unions FNV and CNV. Last week, the court already prohibited a strike by ground personnel that was planned for last Saturday.

The court prohibited the strike last Saturday due to safety considerations. The airline also wants to prohibit the strike next Wednesday because the consequences would be unacceptable. KLM cites operational and safety risks, among other reasons.

According to KLM, FNV and CNV have also failed to reach safety agreements with the airline.

KLM already made a wage offer on Wednesday afternoon in an attempt to prevent the strike. The airline is offering all unions a one-time payment of 1,000 euros per employee this year. There should also be a structural wage increase of 2.5 percent from July 2026. However, this depends on the company’s results for 2025.

Despite this offer, unions CNV and FNV indicate that they are not prepared to continue the conversation. “We want KLM to come up with something concrete for the ground personnel. We won’t buy anything for vague promises,” CNV announced on Wednesday morning.
