Kim Novak from Hitchcock film Vertigo receives oeuvre prize at Filmfestival Venice

The American actress Kim Novak will receive a career award at the Venice Film Festival. The organization of the famous film festival announced this on Monday. The actress will receive a Golden Lion for her oeuvre.

The 92-year-old Novak is known for her role in the film Vertigo by director Alfred Hitchcock from 1958. She also starred in films such as Picnic and Bell, Book and Candle. She has not acted for more than thirty years. Her last role was in 1991 in Liebestraum.

Novak is deeply moved by the prize. “To be recognized at this point in my life for my oeuvre is a dream come true. I will cherish every moment I spend in Venice.”

The 82nd edition of the Venice Film Festival will take place from August 27 to September 6.
