Hockey players strike again in the final phase and again win from India in Pro League

The Dutch men’s hockey team secured another victory against India in the Pro League on Monday. Just like on Saturday, the team, coached by Jeroen Delmee, won 3-2 in the Wagener Stadium in Amstelveen with a goal in the final phase.

Thijs van Dam was the celebrated player for the Netherlands on Saturday with two goals. He reversed a 0-1 deficit for the Netherlands. His winning goal came just before the end.

On Monday, Delmee’s team struck again in the final phase against India. Jip Janssen scored from a penalty corner, his specialty, with just over two minutes left on the clock.

The Netherlands initially fell behind but turned it around with goals from Van Dam and Tjep Hoedemakers. India equalized with just over six minutes to play, but the Dutch ultimately prevailed.

This marks the fourth victory for the Netherlands this Pro League season. The Dutch team still has double encounters with Ireland, Argentina, and England this month.

The Dutch hockey players are preparing for the European Championship in Mönchengladbach in August. The Dutch hope to win the European title for the third consecutive time in Germany.
