According to local emergency services, six children and four adults were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a water point in Gaza on Sunday. People are also reported to have died in other locations due to Israeli attacks, including at a market in Gaza City.
According to a local doctor, sixteen people, including seven children, were injured in the Israeli attack on the al-Nuseirat refugee camp water point. The victims have been taken to the al-Awda hospital, confirms a doctor there.
Eyewitnesses say that a drone targeted people who were queuing with empty jerrycans at a water tanker in the al-Nuseirat refugee camp, report BBC News and Al Jazeera. The Israeli army has not yet responded to the incident.
Deaths from attacks have also been reported in other parts of Gaza. For example, the Palestinian news agency WAFA reports that a child was killed in an attack on a tent in the Al-Sumoud camp in Al-Mawasi. Ten other people are said to have been injured. These numbers have not been confirmed.
At least twelve people are said to have been killed in an attack on a market in Gaza City, including a surgeon from the Al Ahli Arab hospital in Gaza City, reports Al Jazeera. “Our colleagues on the ground report that drones attacked a group of Palestinians in a market in Gaza,” the medium writes.
Deadly attacks on Saturday as well
According to Al Jazeera, Israeli bombings on Saturday also killed 110 Palestinians, including 34 people who were waiting for food at a food distribution point of the controversial aid organization Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) in Rafah.
Negotiations for ceasefire stalled
Israel and Hamas have been negotiating a sixty-day ceasefire since last Sunday. But Israeli and Palestinian insiders announced on Saturday that the negotiations are stalled.
Among other things, Israel wants to maintain a military ‘buffer’ along the border between Gaza and Israel and in the south of the Gaza Strip. Hamas wants the Israeli army to withdraw completely.
In addition, Hamas wants humanitarian aid under the leadership of the United Nations and other international aid organizations to be allowed back into Gaza. Israel is not yet able to agree to this.
