The Enterprise Chamber intervenes at FNV after months of unrest within the trade union. It appoints two temporary members in the Supervisory Board. They receive decisive control within that council and must, among other things, organize and advise new board elections on improvements.
The Enterprise Chamber is part of the Court of Appeal in Amsterdam and states that the internal organization of the largest trade union in the Netherlands is not functioning properly. There are conflicts between the various parts of FNV. There is miscommunication, distrust and feelings of insecurity among employees.
“The lack of internal organization, the administrative crisis and the lack of trust in the elections” cause doubts to the court whether there is correct policy at FNV. The Enterprise Chamber has also ordered an investigation into the trade union.
The assignment of two external officials was a wish of the internal union of the Bond, FNV Personnel. Last week it stood in the Amsterdam courtroom opposite its own organization and asked the judge to consider the management crisis at the Bond.
According to FNV Personeel, the problems have risen so high that it is impossible to return the peace without outside help.
The Supervisory Board (RVT) at the trade union consists of only one member, after the start of two of the three members last month. The names of the new members of the Supervisory Board are announced as soon as possible.
