Jazz musician Chuck Mangione (84) died

The American jazz artist Chuck Mangione passed away on Tuesday at the age of 84. According to his family, he died in his sleep, reports People magazine.

Mangione gained worldwide fame with his hit Feels So Good from 1980. The trumpeter and flugelhorn player performed during his career at North Sea Jazz in The Hague, in 1988, among other venues.

The musician released more than thirty albums and was nominated for a Grammy fourteen times. He won the prestigious music award twice.

Mangione grew up in a musical family. His father took him and his brother to jazz concerts at a young age. Together, the brothers performed for years as The Jazz Brothers.

In the nineties, Mangione also gained notoriety with a new audience through his recurring role in the animated series King of the Hill. In addition, he appeared in an episode of Magnum PI, in which he played a nightclub bandleader.
