In The Early 1980S, Boele Auditioned for the Dutch Voice of Elmo. When Kevin Clash took over the American Version of Elmo from Jim Henson in 1984, he introduced tempo changes that forced boele to refine his interpretation. It took a lot of practice for him to adopt this timing.
