HBO announces protagonists New Harry Potter series

HBO has revealed the lead actors for the upcoming Harry Potter series. The young actors Dominic McLaughlin, Arabella Stanton, and Alastair Stout will take on the roles of Harry, Hermione, and Ron.

The three newcomers were selected from a group of 32,000 children who responded to the worldwide casting call.

According to showrunner Francesca Gardiner and executive producer Mark Mylod, the choice was not easy. “The talent of these three unique actors is wonderful to see. We want to thank all the tens of thousands of children who auditioned,” they said in a statement.

The series, like the previously released film series, is based on the books by J.K. Rowling. It was previously announced that Paapa Essiedu, John Lithgow, Janet McTeer, and Nick Frost, among others, will play a role.

Filming of the new Harry Potter series is expected to begin next summer. A release date is not yet known.
