Full British school bus shoots from Helling after outing, at least one child died

In an accident involving a school bus on a country road in Exmoor, Britain, a child has died. According to police, there were between sixty and seventy people on the bus. At least 21 occupants have been taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The road where the incident occurred is closed. The bus went down the slope, overturned and slid more than 6 meters down, local police said at a press conference.

Police are urging people to avoid the area so that emergency workers can do their job. Twenty ambulances, multiple trauma helicopters and eight fire trucks have been sent to the scene. According to local MP Rachel Gilmour, it is a “very difficult to reach place”.

At least 21 occupants of the bus have been taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. At least two children have been seriously injured, police said. Most passengers have been accommodated in a nearby pub. Officers are looking for ways to get these children to school as quickly as possible, the BBC reports.

The accident reportedly happened while the bus was en route to Minehead Middle School. Parents of the students are requested to gather at the school. The children were probably returning from a school trip to the zoo.
