The police arrested a 23-year-old Frenchman on Saturday evening near Breda who was trying to smuggle, among other things, 7 kilos of ecstasy and 5 kilos of heroin abroad. He also appeared to be under the influence of cannabis.
Officers checked a car in Prinsenbeek around 8:00 PM on Saturday. They noticed a strong smell of cannabis and found a bag with a small amount of hash.
After a saliva test, the man appeared to be under the influence of cannabis. When the officers searched the rest of his car, it turned out that he “had not tried very hard to hide drugs that he wanted to take across the border.”
Behind the front seats, the officers found a shopping bag with presumably 7 kilos of ecstasy and 5 kilos of heroin. All drugs have been seized.
The man has been arrested and will be heard at a later time. His car has been seized for further investigation.
