Dead and seriously injured after accident with three cars on A2 near Maarheeze

A man died in the night from Saturday to Sunday due to an accident on the A2 near Maarheeze. The victim was reportedly thrown from his vehicle in a collision and ended up on the other side of the road.

The collision occurred around 1:00 AM. Three cars were involved in the accident: a Spanish car, a taxi, and a car with a Dutch license plate. The deceased man was in the Spanish car, along with two others.

He was reportedly thrown from the car in the accident and ended up on the other side of the road, according to Omroep Brabant. Another man from that vehicle was also found outside the car. He was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Two people in the car with the Dutch license plate were arrested by the police. The driver of this car was allegedly under the influence during the accident. The passenger turned out to have an outstanding prison sentence.

A section of the highway has been closed in connection with the police investigation into the cause of the accident.
