Christina Applegate is releasing a book about her life. The 53-year-old former actress became known in the 1980s for her role in the series Married… with Children, but in recent years has been more in the background due to her illness, MS.
The book is called You With the Sad Eyes and is scheduled for release in March 2026, reports The Hollywood Reporter.
“I decided to write this book when I had to take it easy,” says Applegate. “I’ve been on TV and in movies since I was three and that was great. But MS suddenly changed things I thought were important.” The former actress writes in the book about her childhood in Los Angeles, her first years on set, and her struggles with abuse.
In 2021, Applegate made her MS diagnosis public. The disease affects the central nervous system. Since then, she has been forced to stop acting and is increasingly in a wheelchair.
However, Applegate emphasizes that her book will not be a tearjerker. “But it will be real. It’s full of ups and downs, the humor and the sadness of life. This is who I am, the real me. There is a lot to tell.”
