Two people were seriously injured in an accident in the German town of Bohmte. A passenger car with five occupants raced through a garden and was launched. The vehicle became stuck in a barn at a height of 3 meters.
The incident occurred on Saturday just before 8:00 PM in Bohmte, a village in the German state of Lower Saxony. According to local police, an SUV shot across an intersection, after which the vehicle collided with a parked car.
The car then raced through a hedge and a garden. There, the vehicle scooped up a seven-year-old boy. The child was jumping on a trampoline at the time of the accident. Police said in a statement that the seriously injured boy may be in life-threatening condition.
Due to the trampoline, the car overturned and the vehicle was launched. The SUV ended up about 3 meters high in a barn a little further on. The five occupants were able to leave the car on their own.
The 42-year-old driver and three children aged 11, 12 and 13 have minor injuries. A 43-year-old woman who was in the passenger seat was seriously injured.
The emergency services came en masse to the scene of the accident. More than fifty firefighters, twelve ambulances and at least twelve police officers were involved in the assistance.
The cause of the accident is not yet known. The police took blood from the driver for examination. The driver has lost his driving license at least during the investigation.
