The former US President Joe Biden is grateful for all the support he has received after it was announced on Sunday that he has metastatic prostate cancer. “Cancer affects us all,” he writes on X.
“We are at our strongest in moments when things are not going well,” reads the short statement from the 82-year-old Biden. “Thank you for the uplifting words of love and support.”
On Sunday, it was announced that Biden has an aggressive form of prostate cancer. The prostate cancer has spread to the bone, Biden’s office reported in a statement. The former president was diagnosed on Friday after experiencing urinary problems.
Biden subsequently received messages of support from, among others, President Donald Trump and former Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.
Trump told reporters at the White House on Monday that he was surprised that the news about Biden’s health condition ‘only’ came out on Sunday. His Vice President JD Vance also suggested on Monday that the American population may have been kept in the dark, without providing evidence.
