Belgian boy (1) passed away because father forgets him in a skewed car

A fifteen-month-old child died of overheating in a car in Namur, Belgium, on Thursday. The little boy was left in the car after his father forgot to drop him off at daycare.

The father had first dropped off his eldest child at another location. After this, he was supposed to drop off the little boy at daycare. But because he normally never does that, he forgot and drove on to work, writes La Dernière Heure.

It only became clear that the child had been left behind in the car when the grandparents wanted to pick up their grandchild from daycare in the evening. An autopsy shows that the little boy died of overheating.

Belgian justice has launched an investigation into involuntary manslaughter.
