Anita Doth nowadays experiences more peace and balance in her life than during her years as a singer of 2 Unlimited. In an interview with De Telegraaf , she tells her body now making it clear to her when it is enough.
“That must now, because I really notice it when my body says: Hello, it has been just as beautiful now,” says 53-year-old Doth. In the nineties, she and Ray Slijngaard formed the popular Danceuo 2 Unlimited, which scored international hits with songs such as No Limit , Get Ready for this and Tribal Dance .
“I used to step into every adventure like a bambi with large, surprised eyes,” says Doth about that period. “But now I know what it means and how easily you are lived.”
According to Doth, the success of 2 Unlimited made a lot possible. “Other people will not experience that soon. We came to the most beautiful places. Actually, I suddenly led the life that I had always dreamed of: the life of a pop star. Every day was actually one big party. We performed from Berlin to Tokyo.”
Yet that intensive period did not go without a struggle. “Then we got a work schedule of hundreds of performances and I asked when there was time to take a vacation and rest. That was not grateful to me. Then I was seen as ‘tricky’.”
