The Public Prosecution Service (OM) is currently experiencing limited telephone accessibility. The organization announced this on its website. It was previously reported that the OM would not be reachable by email for weeks because it has been disconnected from the internet.
The OM reported on Tuesday that all district public prosecutor’s offices, the Appeal Prosecutor’s Office, and the Victim Support Office have limited accessibility. The cause of this is unclear.
Last weekend, the OM reported being disconnected from the internet due to a vulnerability in its systems. On Monday, it became clear that the consequences would be noticeable for weeks. As a result, the prosecutor is unreachable by email.
The National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) discovered the vulnerability in Citrix NetScalers. This is the system that allows employees online access to the office environment. The systems have been disconnected as a precaution.
As a result, employees are temporarily unable to log in outside of OM locations. They are also not reachable by email, and other digital systems are operating with limitations. Employees did not have access to files. Some case systems that provide access to files are now available again.
