Sharon van Rouwendaal has decided to end her swimming career. The two-time Olympic Champion in Open Water Swimming Has Already tasks a step back in recent times and is now saying goodbye to top-level sports.
After years of a Grueling Top-Level Sports Life Abroad, Van Rouwendaal Decided to Slow Down After the Olympic Games in Paris. She is used on vacation, cool clinics and stood on the sidelines as an ambassador at the world championships in July.
In The TV Program RTL Tonight , Van Rouwendaal Talked About Her Choice to Stop. “I finished in Paris and Thought about stopping at my peak then,” she said. “But afterwards I didnn’t because there to be any doubt. I wanted to be 100 percent sure.”
“Now I think I’m 100 percent Sure,” Van Rouwendaal Continued. “At the World Championships Where I was an Ambassador, I Didn’t Miss It.”
The 31-year-old Van Rouwendaal Bids Farewell as One of the Most Successful Open Water Swimmers Ever. She won Olympic Gold in Rio de Janeiro and Paris. Never Before Has a Swimmer won Gold Twice in the Olympic 10 kilometers.
In Between, Van Rouwendaal Tok Silver at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. She also Became World Champion Three Times and European Champion Eight Times in Open Water Swimming.
