Botic van de Zandschulp Reached the Final Of An ATP Tournament for the First Time in Two Years on Friday night to Saturday (Dutch Time). The Dutchman won Two Matches in Five Hours in Winston-Salem, USA.
The 29-Year-Old van de Zandschulp First defeated the Chinese Bu Yunchaokete (6-3, 5-7 and 6-3). That match was stopped a day earlier due to the rainfall, as a result of which the tournament organization taught drastic measures.
Van de Zandschulp had to take action again in the semi-finals 2.5 Hours after his Victory. That did not affect the Veenendaal native. He defeated the Frenchman Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, Number 39 in the world, in an hour and a half: 6-4 and 7-5.
In The Final, Van de Zandschulp Will Face the Hungarian Márton Fucsovics, Number 94 in the World Ranking. It will be the Dutchman’s, the world number 92, his third ATP Final ever. He Lost the Previous Two Finals and is Still Waiting for his First ATP Title.
In Both Finals (2022 and 2023), Van de Zandschulp had to Admit defeat against the Dane Holger Rune. He is the Dutchman’s opponent in the First Round of the US Open, which Starts on Sunday. Regardless of the Outcome of the Final, Van de Zandschulp Will Travel to New York in top form.
That is welcome for van de Zandschulp. The Dutchman Has had A Less Successful Year: He was Eliminated in the First Round at the Australian Open and Roland Garros and Was Stuck in the Second Round at Wimbledon. Partly as a result, he fell back on the world ranking, but his final place will give him a big leap.
