Odido will compensate customers in the North Holland and Rotterdam regions who experienced an outage longer than twelve hours on Friday. The telecom company will compensate customers in these two areas.
These customers will receive an email with information on how to arrange the compensation. “People can leave their details and we will settle the costs with them,” says a spokesperson. “The exact amounts depend on the subscriptions.”
The nationwide outage was caused by maintenance work at a data center. At 7:30 a.m., more than ten thousand complaints were received by Allestoringen. In most of the country, the outage was resolved during Friday morning, writes Odido.
The telecom company finds this outage “extra annoying” because it was the second nationwide outage on its mobile network in a short time. It also happened during the NATO summit in July, but then it was an “unexpected situation with an external party.”
