Visma big earner in Tour de Femmes, worst team gets stuck at 290 euros

Tour de France Femmes

Visma-Lease a Bike can add 76,190 euros to their account, partly thanks to Pauline Ferrand-Prévot’s Tour victory. This makes the Dutch team the highest earner in the Tour de Femmes, while the lowest-performing team is stuck at 290 euros.

Ferrand-Prévot’s overall victory earns Visma-Lease a Bike 50,000 euros. The Frenchwoman also boosted the coffers by winning two stages. For each stage win, a team earns 4,000 euros.

In addition, wearing the yellow jersey earns a team 100 euros per day. Ferrand-Prévot rode in yellow for two days. Visma rider Marianne Vos wore the yellow jersey for three days.

FDJ-SUEZ, with Demi Vollering as their leader, finished second in the money rankings, with almost 54,000 euros. At a great distance follows the UAE Team ADQ of two-time stage winner Maeva Squiban (25,630 euros).

The Belgian team AG Insurance-Soudal and the Dutch SD Worx-ProTime complete the top five in the money rankings. AG Insurance collected 22,450 euros, partly thanks to standout Kimberley Le Court, while SD Worx owes its prize pool of 20,130 euros mainly to green jersey wearer Lorena Wiebes.

Difference with men large

No less than 7 of the 22 Tour teams earned less than 1,000 euros. Winspace Orange Seal, the worst-performing team, even remained stuck on a meager prize pool of 290 euros.

The difference with the prize money for men is large. In the men’s edition, 2.3 million euros were distributed in 21 days, while in the 9-day Tour de Femmes, 259,430 euros could be earned.

The UAE team of Tour winner Tadej Pogacar earned a total of 700,000 euros. The women’s team of Visma earned only a tenth of that. Tailender Cofidis was allowed to add 15,000 euros for the men.
