Arensman grabs in addition to a prize for the most fighting rider in Tour, Healy wins

Thymen Arensman missed out on the prize for the most combative rider in the Tour de France. The two-time stage winner was nominated, but the Irishman Ben Healy received more votes.

Arensman was one of eight nominees. Besides the Dutchman and Healy, Bruno Armirail, Jonas Abrahamsen, Jordan Jegat, Quinn Simmons, Michael Storer, and Tim Wellens were also nominated for the prestigious award.

The 24-year-old Healy won the sixth stage to Vire Normandie after an impressive solo. The EF Education-EasyPost rider also wore the yellow jersey for two days. In the sixteenth stage to Mont Ventoux, he finished second behind the Frenchman Valentin Paret-Peintre.

The prize for the most combative rider is awarded by a professional jury in combination with a public vote. Healy succeeds his teammate Richard Carapaz, who won the prize last year.

The 112th edition of the Tour de France concludes on Sunday with the final stage to Paris. The riders have to ride up Montmartre three times in a row in Paris, which will likely make it a very different race than before. The final stage starts at 4:25 PM.
