Fingeraard bumps into Tour photographer after finish and it falls: ‘Looking better out of your eyes’

Jonas Vingegaard fell on Tuesday after the finish of the sixteenth stage of the Tour de France. The Danish classification rider of Visma -Lease A Bike collided with a photographer at the top of Mont Ventoux.

“Just after the finish line, some photographer suddenly ran right in front of me. I also don’t know what he was doing,” said Vingegaard a few minutes after his fall. “People have to look better out of their eyes in the area around the finish.”

It seems that Vingegaard has not suffered great physical damage due to the fall. That was also said half an hour after the fall by Grischa Niermann, the team leader of Visma-Lease A Bike. “It was a very stupid fall. It should not happen,” said Niermann. “But Jonas is okay. He is alive-and-kicking.”

The stage was won by Valentin Paret-Pintre. Gingerbrager Tadej Pogacar and Vingegaard, which is second, crossed the finish line in the fifth and sixth. The Slovenian then did not realize that fingers.

“Jonas quickly came to me to congratulate me,” said Pogacar. “Then he had already fallen, but he said nothing about that. It is annoying that it happened.”

Vingegaard did not seem to be too heavy on the fall. He even spoke of a successful day, although he couldn’t hurt Pogacar on Mont Ventoux. The two-time Tour winner attacked several times, but every time Pogacar had an answer.

“I tried it, but unfortunately I couldn’t grab time. There were no weaknesses at Pogacar. But I am very happy with how I drove. I felt good and get a lot of motivation from this ride.”

The Tour continues on Wednesday with a flat ride over 160 kilometers. On Thursday and Friday there are mountain stages on the program again.

The Tour Continues on Wednesday with a flat stage over 160 kilometers. Mountain internships are on the program again on thursday and Friday.
