Waved Ozzy Osbourne releases new memoirs in October

Ozzy Osbourne is releasing a new book this fall, titled Last Rites. It will be the second memoir by the frontman of the British band Black Sabbath, who said goodbye last weekend with a show in Birmingham.

Last Rites will be released on October 7 and will cover, among other things, the health problems that the 76-year-old Osbourne has been struggling with for years. In 2003, the musician suffered a near-fatal quad crash, and in 2020 he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

In his book, Osbourne also writes about his marriage to Sharon and the preparations for his farewell concert, where famous colleagues performed. In addition, the musician shares his experiences with, among others, Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash, former AC/DC singer Bon Scott, and former The Who drummer Keith Moon.

“People sometimes ask me if I would change anything if I could do it all over again, knowing what I know now,” Osbourne says in a press release. “Fuck no. If I had been clean and sober, I wouldn’t be Ozzy. If I had done normal, reasonable things, I wouldn’t be Ozzy. If it stops tomorrow, I can’t complain. I’ve been all over the world, seen a lot of things, done a lot of good, and also a lot of wrong.”

Osbourne founded Black Sabbath in Birmingham in 1968. Black Sabbath’s devilish image and hard sound made the band one of the most influential metal bands of that time. Both the band and Osbourne have been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

In 2010, Osbourne released his first memoir, titled I Am Ozzy. Two years later, the book Trust Me, I’m Dr. Ozzy followed.
