Vitesse has dismissed youth coach Marc H. on Thursday due to sexual misconduct. He is suspected of sending sexually suggestive messages to a sixteen-year-old girl.
“Vitesse was confronted on Tuesday evening, July 8, with the news that the trainer of O19 has been discredited,” Vitesse reports in a statement.
“As a result, a meeting took place today which resulted in the immediate termination of the collaboration. Vitesse will now look for a new coach for Vitesse O19.”
According to De Telegraaf and the NOS, H. made sexual proposals to a girl last September, whom he knew through his football school.
The criminal case against H. is on October 2 at the court in Breda, the Public Prosecution Service confirms.
Vitesse is going through a very turbulent period. On Wednesday, it was announced that the Keuken Kampioen Divisie club will start the new season with -12 points. Also, the survival of Vitesse is still in danger because the KNVB threatens to withdraw Vitesse’s professional license.
