Raquel Schilder will be the new RTL Nieuws correspondent in the United States. She will start working in New York as a reporter and producer from August. Schilder succeeds Sophie van der Meer, who will continue to work elsewhere for RTL Nieuws.
“I am very excited. These are historic times,” says the 32-year-old Schilder. “It is great for a journalist to be able to cover the events in the US.”
In New York, she will work with US correspondent Erik Mouthaan, who is looking forward to her arrival. “I am extremely happy that Raquel is coming to New York. She is a top talent, the right woman for this big job,” Mouthaan said.
Schilder has worked as a general reporter for RTL Nieuws in Hilversum in recent years. Previously, she was seen in the WNL programs Goedemorgen Nederland and Stand van Nederland.
