Max Verstappen started the Grand Prix weekend in Great Britain on Friday with the tenth fastest time in the first free practice. Lewis Hamilton recorded the fastest lap at Silverstone.
Verstappen, like last week in Austria, appeared on the asphalt with the necessary updates. In Silverstone, he could count on a renewed floor, among other things.
Yet Verstappen was not exactly satisfied, as he indicated halfway through the session on the pit radio. “At low speed, the car hardly steers, and at high speed, I quickly lose control,” he said. “The car is very difficult to drive.”
Verstappen ultimately came to 1.27.43 in his fastest lap and must fear another difficult weekend. Among others, Liam Lawson and Isack Hadjar were faster on behalf of Racing Bulls, the sister team of Red Bull Racing.
Lewis Hamilton gave the home crowd a good start to the weekend with the fastest time. The Briton of Ferrari recorded 1.26.89 and thus stayed ahead of McLaren drivers Lando Norris (1.26.91) and Oscar Piastri (1.27.04).
The second practice at Silverstone starts on Friday at 5:00 PM (Dutch time). The race is on Sunday at 4:00 PM.
