In Roosendaal zijn hulpdiensten uitgerukt vanwege een verdachte situatie in een woning. Ook de Dienst Speciale Interventies (DSI) is ter plaatse. Wat er precies aan de hand is, is onduidelijk. Er worden meerdere huizenblokken ontruimd.
Het zou gaan om een woning in “een zijstraat” in de Fatimawijk, meldt een woordvoerder van de veiligheidsregio. Een deel van de wijk is afgesloten. Er is een omleiding via de Strausslaan, de Boulevard en de Van Gilselaan. Mensen worden verzocht uit de buurt te blijven.
Iets voor 19.30 uur meldt de Veiligheidsregio dat er uit voorzorg “een aantal huizenblokken wordt ontruimd in de straat van de verdachte woning”. Bewoners worden opgevangen in Buurthuis Keijenburg. Deze locatie staat ook open voor omwonenden binnen het afgesloten gebied die tijdelijk niet naar hun woning kunnen.
Het Team Explosieven Veiligheid is ter plaatse. Dat team wordt vaak opgeroepen als er een explosief of een verdacht pakketje is gevonden. Daarnaast zou de politie een drone in de lucht hebben.
“Onze prioriteit is de veiligheid van de mensen uit de omgeving,” zei een woordvoerder van de veiligheidsregio om 17.45 uur tegen NU.nl.
Volgens de veiligheidsregio zijn in ieder geval brandweer en politie aanwezig. De hulpdiensten zijn opgeschaald naar GRIP 1. Dat gebeurt als de hulpdiensten gecoördineerd met elkaar moeten samenwerken.
