TomTom scraps three hundred jobs, almost a tenth of total

The Dutch navigation company TomTom is cutting three hundred jobs, including in the sales department and in support functions. The reorganization concerns almost a tenth of the total number of jobs.

The reorganization is taking place because the company wants to embrace artificial intelligence, among other things, TomTom writes. The exact reason for the dismissals is unclear. The Amsterdam-based company will provide more information on July 15, when it presents its figures for the second quarter.

TomTom made a profit of 3 million euros in the first quarter, through cost savings. In 2024, it had suffered a loss of 17 million euros. The loss was related to problems in the automotive industry, as a result of increasing competition from China. In addition, fewer individual navigation devices have been sold for years.
