Ingrid Coenradie, who was State Secretary of Justice on behalf of the PVV in the Schoof cabinet, is joining the JA21 party. She announced this in an interview with the AD. She will be on the electoral list below party leader Joost Eerdmans.
After the fall of the cabinet, Coenradie strongly criticized Wilders for his decision to withdraw from the coalition. She was also very critical of Wilders’ solo course. As PVV minister, she said she had not had contact with the party leader for a long time.
In recent weeks, there has been speculation about which party Coenradie would join. In the AD interview, the politician now says that she feels good about the “right-wing realistic” course of JA21. “The ideas of JA21 align with my own beliefs – not only in terms of content, but also in terms of style,” she says. “Saying it like it is, but always with respect for others.”
The former State Secretary “feels that she is not finished with The Hague yet”. Noteworthy: she does not completely rule out cooperation with the PVV. “I don’t want to do anything with or for Wilders anymore. But JA21 does not exclude any party in advance.” However, she wants to “convince the voter that they really don’t have to be with the PVV.”
