Bruce Springsteen looks back positively on his involvement in Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere, in which actor Jeremy Allen White plays him. The singer calls the collaboration “enjoyable” and praises White’s attitude on set in an interview with Rolling Stone.

Although Springsteen was aware of his influence on the set, he wanted to give the actors room to play freely, especially in emotional scenes. “Look, if I ever get in the way, just give me a signal and I’ll go home,” he told White. According to the musician, he turned out to be “wonderfully tolerant”. Springsteen eventually chose to stay home for some scenes.

The 75-year-old American artist speaks highly of the film project. He also calls Jeremy Strong, who plays his manager Jon Landau, “fantastic”.

The first trailer of the biopic was released on Wednesday. White is receiving a lot of support for his performance of the song Born to Run. Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere, directed by Scott Cooper, will be in theaters from October 24.
