Gasoline in a day more than 1 cent more expensive due to tensions in Middle East

The recommended price for gasoline rose by more than 1 cent per liter on Saturday due to tensions in the Middle East. At TotalEnergies and Texaco pumps, it even increased by 2 cents per liter. Diesel has also become more expensive.

The national recommended price for Euro95 is now an average of 2.122 euros, compared to 2.110 euros on Friday. This is according to figures from consumer collective UnitedConsumers.

For diesel, it is now 1.841 euros. That is almost 2 cents more than Friday. These recommended prices are mainly asked along the highway. Elsewhere, refueling is often cheaper.

Experts had already predicted that motorists would feel the situation in their wallets. After Israel’s attack on Iran, the price of oil on the world market rose immediately.

“In the coming time, there will be more nervousness anyway. Markets will continue to price in the risk premium in case things escalate,” energy expert Hans van Cleef told the ANP. On Friday, oil prices already rose by 9 percent.
